I personally favor cPanel all time, and its hard for person like me to get my hand on other control panel, vdeck or not 
All this changed after i give it a try and give it a complete review on this ‘vdeck’.
First of all, vdesk, is not less than features if compare to cpanel. Cpanel is like all icons pack into one single page. And vdeck is using large icon with category, top down.
On overall, i spend 15 minutes to try out most of the vdeck features, and its conclude that this vdesk is perform all the task that cpanel can perform. On usual, cpanel hosting will be bit more expensive. vdeck will be more value for your money
