There is only one major problem that I have with Startlogic email. It is annoying enough that I am seriously considering moving my 20 someodd domains to another host.
Every 90 days I get notification on many of my email boxes that they will be disabled due to “non-use”. According to Startlogic, this is to prevent spam, which is total bullcrap. If my email was being used for spam, you wouldn’t be sending me a notice disabling it for non-use…BECAUSE IT WOULD BE USED FOR SENDING SPAM!!!. Instead of running a program that monitors for spam against the emails, they have decided it is better to monitor for non-use and just threaten their customers who pay for a mail box. Because I don’t use it has nothing to do with spam and I find it rather offensive that every 90 days they threaten to close all my email accounts because they are not used.
I have tried talking to Startlogic about this but I get the same stonewalling at the intermediary level that you would expect when a company gets to a certain size (i.e. it is our policy). They did suggest that I forward the emails to a primary, but that doesn’t work when I am hosting other’s websites, but they don’t really care about that. It really doesn’t matter why I’m not getting email to these accounts, I paid for them.
Anyway, if you have sites and you are just leaving them alone, I would recommend someone else. If you know for sure you will check your email within 90 days, go for it. They are fine otherwise.
